Basic, headline, and core headline earnings per share for the year ended 31 May 2024 are expected to increase by more than 20% compared to the previous year.
Earnings per share are projected to rise from 30.48 cents to between 71.88 and 73.10 cents, a 136%–140% increase.
Headline earnings per share are expected to increase from 41.97 cents to between 72.80 and 74.48 cents, a 73%–77% rise.
Core headline earnings per share are anticipated to grow from 45.55 cents to between 75.17 and 76.99 cents, a 65%–69% increase.
Core headline earnings for the year reached R679 million, up from R402 million in the prior year.
Impact of Cell C recapitalisation
Excluding Cell C recapitalisation effects, core headline earnings declined by R312 million (34%) from R925 million to R613 million.
Core headline earnings per share, excluding these effects, dropped by 34% from 104.83 cents to 68.66 cents.
Earnings per share and headline earnings per share, excluding Cell C impacts, declined by 35% to 65.07 cents and 66.22 cents, respectively.
