Executive summary
Achieved 3.9% year-over-year revenue growth in the first half, reaching ¥205,814 million, driven by proprietary initiatives and strong demand in telecommunications, electronics, and electrical equipment, especially in China and Asia.
Operating profit declined 16.1% year-over-year to ¥19,618 million due to growth investments, Fictiv acquisition costs, and FX/tariff headwinds, but remained in line with internal plans.
Net profit attributable to owners of parent fell 23.1% to ¥13,997 million, impacted by increased expenditures and M&A-related costs.
Fictiv's performance since July consolidation was solid, and integration is progressing smoothly, resulting in a significant increase in goodwill.
Financial highlights
First-half revenue: ¥205.8 billion (+3.9% YoY); operating profit: ¥19.6 billion (9.5% margin, -16.1% YoY); net profit: ¥14.0 billion (-23.1% YoY).
Gross profit increased to ¥95,002 million; comprehensive income surged 79.5% YoY to ¥17,929 million, mainly due to FX translation adjustments.
FA segment grew 8.8% YoY; VONA up 2.4%; Mold/Die Components down 0.6%.
Overseas sales rose 8.1% YoY, now 58.9% of total; Japan sales fell 1.5% YoY.
Net assets increased to ¥357,127 million; equity ratio remained high at 83.3%.
Outlook and guidance
Full-year revenue forecast revised up to ¥432.0 billion (+7.5% YoY), with operating profit expected at ¥45.5 billion and net profit at ¥33.9 billion.
Net income per share forecast raised to ¥124.67, reflecting improved expectations from Fictiv consolidation and FX.
Dividend forecast for the year-end revised to ¥25.62 per share, with a total annual dividend of ¥43.64 per share.
All business segments projected to grow YoY, with FA segment leading due to Fictiv and digital initiatives.
Overseas growth to outpace domestic, led by US, China, and Asia.
